9. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. We're skeptical when video games become films (hey, not everything can be
Tomb Raider). But Disney is banking on
Persia to become its new adventure franchise à la
Pirates of the Caribbean.
Jake Gyllenhaal stars as Prince Dastan, who must stop a sandstorm from destroying the world. Also with Gemma Arterton, Ben Kingsley and Alfred Molina.

8. Robin Hood. There's the horrible chance that this film could end up being
Gladiator in tights, but we're counting on director Ridley Scott to give us a fresh, new take on this familiar tale of the expert archer who becomes a legendary hero.
Starring Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey (wait, who?), Matthew Macfadyen as the Sheriff of Nottingham and Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian.
